Microflow (HEN) Nebulizers
The HEN by MEINHARD is ideal for microscample analysis. It exhibits detection limits comparable to those of a standard MEINHARD® nebulizer while consuming 25 times less sample. The HEN can function reliability at liquid flow rates from 10 to 300 μL/min. The HEN fits standard spray chambers.
HEN is designed to operate at 100 µL/min with Ar at 170 psi. However most applications run at a lower flow rate, closer to 40 µL/min. At that rate, the psi required is halved. For example, a 120 psi nebulizer will require a pressure of 55 psi.
Also of note, is that higher flow rate HEN designs can be used to prevent clogging. For example, if the application design calls for a 100 µl/min, a HEN 300 µl/min can be used to avoid clogs.
The high-pressure FG+ gas connection kit is recommended for secure attachment of the nebulizer gas tubing. Chromatography unions (Fit Kits #1 and #1-Micro) are available to provide a minimum dead volume, leak-free connection to 1/16” column tubing.
